Making a difficult role feel a little less lonely.
Elder Mind is a collection of practical ideas for people supporting an older relative with dementia or cognitive impairment.
Why this site exists
The articles began with personal experience of parents and in-laws living with age-related cognitive conditions, including a mother's Lewy body dementia. They share the questions, adjustments and small discoveries that can matter in everyday family care.
Lived experience is valuable, but it is not the same as clinical expertise. That is why improved Elder Mind articles separate personal suggestions from health guidance, link to trusted sources and clearly signpost situations that need professional help.
Editorial promise

Who it is for
The site is primarily written for family members and unpaid carers in the UK. Much of the practical advice can be useful elsewhere, but service and emergency information may differ by country.
